Introducing Sploj: A New Initiative for Young Adults in Machynlleth and Surrounding Areas

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Sploj, a brand-new initiative designed specifically to meet the needs of young adults aged 18–29 in Machynlleth and the surrounding areas. This project has emerged from our ongoing consultations with the local community, where young adults have consistently expressed the need for tailored opportunities, spaces for socialising, and support for personal and professional development. Through Sploj, we are responding directly to these needs, creating a vibrant hub for learning, creativity, and social connection.

What is Sploj?
Sploj is a community-driven initiative developed to offer young adults a space to come together, develop skills, and engage in meaningful activities. Whether you're looking to socialise, learn new digital or creative skills, or simply find a place where you can express yourself freely, Sploj is for you. This initiative has been designed with input from the very people it serves, ensuring that it reflects the priorities of young adults in Mid Wales.
Why Sploj? The Consultation Process Behind the Initiative
Sploj is not just another project—it’s the result of over two years of community consultation. In surveys conducted by Stiwdio Dyfi, young adults identified a lack of consistent social opportunities, professional development, and creative outlets in the area. The Young Adults in Mid Wales Survey (August 2023) revealed that many felt socially isolated, with few spaces tailored to their needs. Respondents highlighted the need for regular events, workshops, and opportunities to build skills for future employment. These consultations formed the foundation for the creation of Sploj, which directly addresses these gaps.
What Sploj Will Offer
Sploj will provide a dynamic range of activities and opportunities designed to empower young adults:
- Social Spaces: Sploj will host regular social events, including film screenings, live music nights, and meet-ups designed for young adults to relax, meet new people, and build connections. We know from our consultations that there is a strong desire for social spaces that cater specifically to this age group.
- Skill Development Workshops: From filmmaking to music production, Sploj will offer a variety of workshops aimed at helping young adults develop practical, creative, and technical skills. Our previous initiatives, like the Digidol Dyfi Digital Project, have shown how important these opportunities are for young people, and we are excited to expand on that success with Sploj.
- Volunteer and Leadership Opportunities: Sploj will encourage young adults to take an active role in shaping the programme. Whether it’s helping to organise events or leading workshops, this is a space where you can gain valuable experience, build confidence, and contribute to the wider community.
- A Space for Expression: One of the key findings from our consultations was the need for young adults to have spaces where they can express themselves freely. Sploj will offer an inclusive environment where you can share ideas, explore your creative potential, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Beth yw Sploj?

P’un a ydych chi’n chwilio am le i gymdeithasu, dysgu sgiliau digidol neu greadigol newydd, neu i fynegi eich hun yn rhydd, mae Sploj yma i chi. Mae’r fenter hon wedi’i dylunio gyda mewnbwn gan y bobl y mae’n eu gwasanaethu, gan sicrhau ei bod yn adlewyrchu blaenoriaethau oedolion ifanc yng Nghanolbarth Cymru.
Pam Sploj? Y Broses Ymgynghori y Tu Ôl i’r Fenter
Nid prosiect arall yn unig yw Sploj—mae’n ganlyniad dros ddwy flynedd o ymgynghori â’r gymuned. Mewn arolygon a gynhaliwyd gan Stiwdio Dyfi, nododd oedolion ifanc brinder cyfleoedd cymdeithasol cyson, datblygiad proffesiynol, a llefydd creadigol yn yr ardal. Dangosodd Arolwg Oedolion Ifanc yng Nghanolbarth Cymru (Awst 2023) fod llawer yn teimlo'n ynysig yn gymdeithasol, gyda phrin o leoedd wedi'u teilwra i'w hanghenion. Pwysleisiodd yr ymatebwyr yr angen am ddigwyddiadau rheolaidd, gweithdai, a chyfleoedd i ddatblygu sgiliau ar gyfer cyflogaeth yn y dyfodol. Mae’r ymgynghoriadau hyn wedi gosod y sylfeini ar gyfer creu Sploj, sy’n mynd i’r afael yn uniongyrchol â’r bylchau hyn.
Beth fydd Sploj yn ei Gynnig?
Bydd Sploj yn darparu amrywiaeth eang o weithgareddau a chyfleoedd a gynlluniwyd i alluogi oedolion ifanc:
- Mannau Cymdeithasol: Bydd Sploj yn cynnal digwyddiadau cymdeithasol rheolaidd, gan gynnwys dangosiadau ffilmiau, nosweithiau cerddoriaeth fyw, a chyfarfodydd i alluogi oedolion ifanc i ymlacio, cwrdd â phobl newydd, ac adeiladu cysylltiadau. Gwyddom o’n hymgynghoriadau bod angen mawr am fannau cymdeithasol sy’n darparu’n benodol ar gyfer y grŵp oedran hwn.
- Gweithdai Datblygu Sgiliau: O greu ffilmiau i gynhyrchu cerddoriaeth, bydd Sploj yn cynnig amrywiaeth o weithdai i helpu oedolion ifanc ddatblygu sgiliau ymarferol, creadigol a thechnegol. Mae ein mentrau blaenorol, fel y Digidol Dyfi Digital Project, wedi dangos pa mor bwysig yw’r cyfleoedd hyn i bobl ifanc, ac rydym yn gyffrous i ehangu ar y llwyddiant hwnnw gyda Sploj.
- Cyfleoedd Gwirfoddoli ac Arweinyddiaeth: Bydd Sploj yn annog oedolion ifanc i chwarae rhan weithgar wrth lunio'r rhaglen. P’un a ydych yn helpu i drefnu digwyddiadau neu’n arwain gweithdai, dyma le lle gallwch ennill profiad gwerthfawr, adeiladu hyder, a chyfrannu at y gymuned ehangach.
- Lle i Fynegi’ch Hun: Un o’r canfyddiadau allweddol o’n hymgynghoriadau oedd yr angen i oedolion ifanc gael mannau lle gallant fynegi eu hunain yn rhydd. Bydd Sploj yn cynnig amgylchedd cynhwysol lle gallwch rannu syniadau, archwilio eich potensial creadigol, a chysylltu ag unigolion o’r un anian.
Dywedwch Eich Barn ar yr Hyn sy’n Digwydd Nesaf
Wrth i ni adeiladu Sploj, rydyn ni eisiau sicrhau ei fod wedi’i siapio gan y gymuned y mae’n ei gwasanaethu. Cymerwch funud i gwblhau ein harolwg a rhoi gwybod i ni pa weithgareddau, gweithdai, neu ddigwyddiadau yr hoffech eu gweld. Bydd eich mewnbwn yn effeithio’n uniongyrchol ar y mathau o gyfleoedd a ddarparwn, gan sicrhau bod Sploj yn adlewyrchu diddordebau ac anghenion oedolion ifanc ledled Canolbarth Cymru.
Edrych tuag at y Dyfodol
Wrth i Sploj dyfu, ein nod yw addasu ac ehangu’r rhaglen yn barhaus yn seiliedig ar adborth gan ein haelodau. Ein nod yw creu menter sy’n para’n hir ac sy’n cefnogi oedolion ifanc wrth adeiladu eu sgiliau, cryfhau eu cysylltiadau cymunedol, a theimlo’n rymus wrth siapio eu dyfodol.
